Celebrating Your Daily Impact: The Unseen Roles of Early Educators

Hey Reader!

Today I just want to acknowledge the hard work that you do every day as an early educator. You serve in so many roles each day that there is no degree or training class that could prepare and equip you for what you are responsible for each day! You carry a lot of weight, a lot of responsibility, a lot of burden. On most days, you might find yourself as

  1. A teacher – I mean, I hope that you’re teaching these littles something!
  2. A coach – you’re coaching them along to better language, better choices,
  3. A cheerleader – you’re encouraging them and cheering for them as they grow and develop and master new skills
  4. A lifeguard – afterall, we have to keep these babies safe, don’t we?
  5. A nurse – not too many days go by where you’re not adding a bandaid to a “boo-boo” or bringing in an icepack for a bump

In a really fun conversation with PJ Yarbrough recently, we talk about several more “hats” that you might wear as an early educator. I hope you’ll listen in HERE as she adds in roles like “Builder”, “Environmentalist”, and, my favorite…the “Gardener”.

The work you do matters for eternity! Do not lose heart. Some days are hard…think about which hats you wore that day and figure out which one might need a bit more training or equipping or support. And which hat fits really well…it brings you the most joy and strength and maybe you should help others develop some strengths in that area.

At ECCN, we are praying for you regularly – that You would be fully equipped each day for the work that is assigned to you that day. The Lord provided manna for the Israelites every single day…never more than one day’s worth, though (except on the day before the Sabbath – that’s a whole other email about taking time to rest and reflect on what God is accomplishing). Trust Him today to equip you to fulfill the roles He places on you with the children and families in your care right now. He will be faithful. Look for Him.

Cheering you on this week!

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
